// June 3rd, 2011 // Geeky Stuff, General

The PlayStation Store was re-opened a couple of days ago, and now the Welcome Back content has been made available for everyone!

“With the PlayStation Store back online, we’ve been getting all caught up this week, having launched an abundance of amazing content for download on PlayStation 3 and PSP. Today, we’re excited to launch the Welcome Back program to thank you for your loyalty and below we’ve detailed what is available, how to go about downloading it and a list of frequently asked questions.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding as we restored the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services – your support has meant a lot to us and is greatly appreciated.”

The games I’ve decided to download are “Wipeout HD” and “inFAMOUS” for my PS3, and “Little Big Planet” and “Killzone Liberation” for my PSP. It took me about 45 minutes of constantly being kicked off the store (showing various different error messages) before I was able to queue the downloads. That said, I was extremely persistent, and I know the reason for the difficulties was because thousands and thousands of people were doing exactly the same thing. Unless you’re absolutely desperate to get your freebies, I would recommend waiting until tomorrow or the day after to try getting your free games.

To finish off, I want to take this opportunity to commend Sony on their efforts to get their services back up and running again.
