Oh joy of joys!* Another day where couples all around the world insist on rubbing it in the faces of single folk. At least I don't have to go through the hassle of trying to book a table in a restaurant tonight, and it gives me an excuse to use this again...

What was the one problem with the new car? The stereo. It came with a cassette player that, sadly, busted a long time ago. Ya stick a tape in there and it won't play cos the motor's gone, and the eject button is borked as well. In order to listen to anything, I had to use an FM transmitter, but the aerial was snapped off ages ago so the reception wasn't fantastic. SOOOOoooo......
Say hello to my new stereo, supporting MP3 CDs, USB and Aux in! I was gonna get one that used an SD card but it dawned on me that I'd be limited to 2Gb on each card (since the only one I could find didn't support SDHC). This one's good cos it supports up to 8Gb USB sticks, maybe even higher for all I know.
I was gonna get some speakers too but the fellah in the shop said I should notice a big improvement in sound quality by just having the new stereo. I wasn't sure but I went ahead and, sure enough, it's soooo much better!! Time to sort out my music, methinks...

Well, I have a car now! I've been looking around for a couple of months for a Honda Jazz but sadly they're too expensive... that, and I was turned down for a loan by the sodding bank! Bloody recession! Anyway, the folks stopped by this weekend and gave me my dad's old car. It's an 11 year old Renault Megane hatchback 1.4, and looks a little like this:
Now I have the freedom to go pretty much wherever I please!

It's certainly been a short while since I had any diet updates for you all! Then again, I've had my birthday, bonfire night, christmas AND new year to compete with since I was no longer declared as overweight. Over Christmas and new year I didn't follow the diet because... well... how can ya??! Over those two weeks alone I'd put on 5 lbs!
Still, nonetheless, I've fought on and now I can announce that I'm at:
22.98 BMI
That's 11 stone 6 pounds! Incredible!As I promised myself, I took a good long hard look at myself in the mirror. I definitely look a lot better, a slimmer sportier me looked back at me... but... I'm still not quite happy with it, so I'm carrying on to 11 stone. However, I'm making a change. Instead of weighing myself when I wake up, I'm going to do it when I get home from work instead. I'll be heavier at that time of the day, what with breakfast, lunch, and all the cups of coffee I've drunk still in my gut. I think doing it this way means that I will roughly be at my target weight at a more realistic time of the day (I mean, how many people go by how much they weigh first thing on a morning?).
This means, then, that my new target weight is 22 BMI which is exactly 11 stone for me. Wii Fit recommends this weight for me anyway, because it's the weight at which my body can fight off infection at it's best.
Well, here's hoping...

Sorry everyone, I haven't updated this blog in quite a while. I'm still alive and kicking and a few things have happened in the last couple of months.
Instead of cramming everything into one post, I'll magically travel back in time to when these events took place and post them here!

Another year has gone by and another recount of my spam has been made, and I'm very surprised! Just as Anne Cohen collected her junk mail, I've been collecting my spam to see how much is being sent out every year.
Now I don't know if it's anything I've done, or if spam is going out of fashion, because between 01/01/08 00:00 and 31/12/08 23:59, I received a grand total of:
2,024 spam emails
This works out, on average, as one spam e-mail every 4 hours 20 minutes and 24 seconds! It's also less than 1/10th the amount of spam I got the previous year!Popular spam this year has been:
- Natwest Bank security and account management alerts
- Casino welcome bonuses
- Bogus System Administrator, Postmaster, and Mailer Daemon emails
- FreebieGB offers
- Completely blank emails (no from address, subject and body)
- "Do you want enlarge your penis?" emails (Answer: no thanks, not necessary
)
