Yup, it's been a while since I've been on here. I've had a load of problems going on this past week or so that I'd rather not go into right now. I just hope things sort themselves out through time, and if not, then I'm screwed, basically.
Of course, because of this, it means that I've had a little extra spare time on my hands so I've decided to sort out the pig sty that is my bedroom. Now everything's in place again.
I've also sorted out my pooter desk as well. I moved the tower to the shelf next to the desk. I thank heaven for the legroom.

Yay! I got my pooter back. Angela had it for quite a while so she could show her students what the inside of a computer looks like. All I need now is the necessary software and I can set it up! Oooh, it's all so exciting... errm, ok maybe it isn't but I'm still happy it's back.
Still yet to hear from a job application I went for yesterday at Suncrest Surrounds for my work placement. The interview went pretty well, I thought, so I could stand a chance to get to work there. It'd be nice to move out into my own place for a while, even if it IS only as far as Peterlee.

Yay! I got my 19" monitor today! No longer do I have to put up with a crappy 15" monitor only capable of handling 1024x768! I've got 1600x1200 now and there's no stepping back!

Lets see:
* Moved the pooter to a proper computer desk in my room.
* Set up the USB devices on said machine.
* Starting Weight Watchers diet again.
* Setup my Nokia 7650 to send/receive e-mails (Been quite useful).
* Downloading South Park episodes.
* Buying DVDs (Austin Powers 1+2, Dogma, Summit 'bout Mary)
* Spending quality time with Helen.
That's all, really. Right now I'm relaxing a little. Might pop out with Paul later tonight, dunno yet.

I dunno where to begin, so I'll just say stuff at random...
I've got my exams out of the way. I only had three but damn they were bastards!! I doubt I've passed any of them, really. I've only managed to get in approx. 24 hours revision for each of them (That might explain for it all). But they're out of the way, so I'm relaxing now.
Made a phone call to O2-online on the 9th, ordering my new mobile phone - the Nokia 7650!! I eagerly awaited for it's arrival on the following Monday (about 1:10pm) and since then I've not parted with it! It's such a cool phone! There's too much to go into detail right now but expect future entries on here to include some photos I've taken while I've been about. I may even include them in the photo archives at zxoncam.co.uk .
On the 10th I ordered an IrDA USB adapter to use with my new Nokia in the hope that it'll arrive the same time as the phone. Strangely enough, it arrived BEFORE the mobile, on Monday morning. The software that comes with it doesn't work with the phone when the guy who sold it to me on e-bay said it would (although i saw the same item up for sale there for a little more and it said that 7650 software was in the making so I guess I can wait a bit) but the drivers work fine.
I've also bought Auto Modellista for my PS2 - nifty little game, that is.
*Ow!* And I've just knackered my knuckles punching the POS monitor I'm having to put up with. *grrr!*

Aye, it is indeed the birth of a new era, for I finally hauled my arse and got that router put together.... ish. Got a phonecall off Helen saying she needed a pooter to do her Uni work and asked if she could borrow my laptop. After giving her the sad news that it was comatosed, I offered to salvage the hard drive and put it in the machine which was to be the router.
I stayed up all night to sort that out! I haven't slept in more than 36 hours, but I finally prevailed... ish.
I wanted it to have:
Windows 98SE, a working CD-ROM drive and Microsoft Word 97 on it.
Instead I had to make do with:
Windows 95, Wordpad.
That machine was such an arse to configure I just gave up in the end! But really, she doesn't need anymore than that to do her work, she said so herself.
Here's some pictures to enlighten you...
(Click them for a closer look)
...Before...
That's the machine under construction. You can see my 52x CD-ROM, the laptop hard drive (I only formatted 1.9Gb of it cos I didn't really need the whole lot just yet), and the floppy drive at the back, sat on the power supply. There's a couple of sets of DDR RAM still in there at the bottom of the case unused. I didn't use 'em because this motherboard IIRC runs on EDO RAM and would throw a hissy fit if I put in the DDR RAM as well. On the left, there's the sound card (Not necessary cos I'm not including speakers in the "package deal"
There's also two more HDDs there (1Gb and 4Gb) but they're off-picture.
...After...
Here's the finished product! Included in the shot are the keyboard, mouse and monitor that're gonna be used. Now it's ready to be taken over to Helens... As soon as Paul decides to show his face.

I've decided to get shot of Winamp 3 on the main pooter here and put v2.81 back on. I'm just more accustomed to this version, and plus it allows me to have the script in the top-left corner showing what I'm currently listening to. I'd like to improve it so that it'll say that I ain't got Winamp on or something...
