It does everything that my previous (not-fully-funtional) MD player does, except it also supports 1Gb HiMD discs, which means more music for my money wherever I go! Now I can record band practices and gigs again, as well as go back to my all-time favourite portable media format!

I don't know whether God wanted me to give up something I loved in order to achieve this or not, but I'm finally going back to uni! I'm doing a BSc in Computer Studies. Don't let the name fool you, I get to do almost anything I want in this course. I'm starting off with some vector drawing and animation, web development, SQL programming, and on-line business. All of these modules, and their future ones, will greatly help me in getting a job in web design/development again (but at a much higher professional level!). Wish me luck!!!

It is with regret that I have to report that my cat, Jack, has now passed on. He was found in someone's back garden where he had staggered to after he was hit by a car on our street.

They say that cats can leave paw prints on your heart. Truer words were never spoken. Jack will be missed deeply.

Well here's another diary entry, the 2nd within a week. That doesn't happen too often. I haven't had much free time recently what with having to go to work at unsociable hours and everything. I have, however, had the time to be introduced to a very peculiar game called Sentient, a 1st person 3D role playing game, dating as far back as 1997! Our lass bought it for her PC and she'd been having trouble getting it to run under Windows XP because it was originally made for Windows 95! A quick visit to the compatibility settings in XP soon solved that but it's blocky as hell! It's rather amusing though because it contains some of the best insults ever to be coded into a video game ("GO EAT YOUR FEET!!"
Work today has gone a little more smoothly though, as I've not received a single wireless and talk call all day (Hope I'm not speaking too soon... I'm at work right now!). Note to all ADSL customers: Get out quick! Go for cable instead! Sure it's more expensive but it's a hell of a lot more reliable and, being honest, isn't reliability worth the extra pennies?
Still trying to design a successful and professional looking website for Nemo, with the little time I have. I want something that will look really sharp but with a bit of colour too, like with the Flaming Lips site. Obviously I'm not going to do a complete rip off of the site but I'd like something like that.
Actually there's something else I wanted to add - I managed to get all my news entries back! I owe it all to the WayBackMachine, which let me look into archived copies of my site from ages ago! If you look through the archive you'll see them all. Granted there's a year's gap but I didn't add anything to the news over that time anyway... cos it was down!

...but not much more to report. I've sorted out my server computer so that the webcams are running their live feed of myself now. In fact, I've added a 3rd camera to the site so there're three feeds all at once
Things with our lass are ok. I've managed to see her between shifts at each other's work places and it looks like things could be going her way. She's applied for a shitload of jobs all over the UK and is currently receiving emails and letters saying that her applications are being processed. Here's hoping she gets a job that's worthy of her attention.
I've been seeing some friends recently too, catching up on some of the gossip. Paul got himself a new car and is fixing it up as I type. Hopefully, according to him, it'll be road-worthy within the next week or so (What I mean by that, is that it'll have a new body kit, spoiler, stereo, interior, alloys etc.) so that's something to look forward to. Keep an eye on here (or on zxoncam) for a photo of it in the near future.
Work, however, is well depressing. I'm on a "campaign" (as it were) called Wireless & Talk with Wanadoo and it's really annoying - takes a good hour to solve any problems with the hardware, 90% of the calls are solved by replacing the hardware (because it's shite!), no one who calls up has the faintest idea as to how to tell us what's wrong ("My broadband isn't working" is a familiar phrase I hear on almost every call. Never says how long its been going on for, what the lights on the hardware looks like etc.). Also, the voice that plays whenever we receive a call is so dull. The girl who's voice was recorded for this sounds like a scrubby townie and doesn't seem to give two hoots about it. I mean, if that's the best message they could get then jesus christ!!
I only hope that my idea to go back to University works out ok. I'm gonna go back but do a different IT course there, and I also hope that I can continue from the 2nd year onwards becase the first year of this course and my previous course there are exactly the same, and I did at least finish the 1st year of the previous one! Hopefully my credits will carry me onto the 2nd year.
Actually, there was quite a lot to report. I hope to post more entries on here than I did before. I just hope that a backup of my site will show up somewhere so I can fill in the two-year gap on here! I have, however, found news entries for the Nemo website dating as far back as a year ago which, as far as I know, is the most up to date record there is. I'll be using that to fill in gaps for the Nemo site too.

Have you noticed something? Since November, this space was completely empty. But now the site is alive and kicking again! Not only that, but the Nemo and zxoncam websites are also back up again. I finally got round to paying my hosting bills and just look at me! A fully fledged webmaster once more!
However there are a couple of things to make a note of. First of all, since Notnet don't keep backups from as far back as November, I'm afraid that all the news entries for the last two years have gone! I'm still working on trying to get some back but the likelyhood of that is minimal. On the plus side though, I've made a couple of administrative changes to this site. I'm not giving out any secrets but lets just say that, for the most part, this site can be edited remotely. Not only its normal content, but even things such as links and introductions to each page have been coded differently so I can even change everything from work.
The Nemo website is marked as under construction for now, for a number of reasons. The band have progressed an awful lot since the site originally went down. We're down to a four piece again... the band name will have to change... we've taken a few orders from abroad for our demo... an album and possibly a new demo are on the cards... I also want to change the layout of the site because, quite frankly, the other one was rather odd and really didn't make alot of sense. As well as that, it was difficult to administrate. I want to make things simpler, like I have with this site, and be able to change practically everything remotely. As soon as I've gotten all the information I need from the other band members and have drafted a website design, I'll get to work and have it up and running.
My webcam site is fully working, except that I haven't used my webcams in ages and have wiped my PC since the site last worked, so there isn't any live feed at the moment but I'll get that going shortly. I've also got alot of new photos to put on the site, and I've decided I'm going to scrap the .avi files on the site and replace them with .3gp (where possible). Since the site last went down, .3gp has become much more of a video standard amongst mobile phones and are compatible with a number of media players on PCs, so it makes sense to just leave them in their original format. There will be an added bonus as well. I recently got hold of video recording software on my Nokia 6600 which finally allows me to record video clips that're as long as the memory will allow... and since I've got a 1GB MMC card in there, I should imagine that future video clips on the site will be longer and appear more frequent!
That's all for now. I'll keep you all informed as to how my life is getting on very soon.

Just yesterday morning I received through the mail a P3 1.2Ghz processor. Now I'm running 400Mhz faster than before (50% improvement). I can't really tell if it's made any difference at the moment cos I don't have enough space on my HDD for any detailed games (e.g. Vice City, UT2005 etc.). I'm gonna wait til my 50 4x DVD-R's come through the mail from eBay, then I can free up loads of space!
On another note, my file server has been finished for ages now and I've yet to update my site with the info. I'll get it sorted sometime soon... Just as soon as I'm no longer under such high demand!
Oh, and I'm applying for a number of full-time jobs. Hopefully I will be victorious!

Yay! Finally, I'm putting my widescreen telly to some proper use! I got a freeview box the other day and it setup in no time at all. At least now I've got some decent channels upstairs!
